Leopolis Shopping Centre

Lvov, the leading western Ukrainian city, will welcome a new shopping centre, Leopolis, in the spring of 2009. Developer Intermarket has secured 80% of the lettable space on preleases in the new centre which will be anchored by an Arsen Hypermarket.

Turkish Contractor, Hazinedaroglu, was appointed as general contractor in October 2007 to build the 98,000m2 shopping centre designed by Poland's Studio Quadra and Ukrainian UKRConsultgroup.

Europtima, who established the concept and business plan for Leopolis, are providing a range of development, project and cost management services from their Lvov and Warsaw offices.

Partners rolling out retail and office projects

EO has always prided itself on developing long term relationships with its customers. So we're delighted to have been entrusted with more business by 2 of our 'Partners': Apsys International and Cisco Systems

Specialist shopping centre developer Apsys International are proceeding with the expansion of their Wzgorze Shopping Centre in Gdynia with an expansion of more than 25,000m2 with EO appointed as construction economist. Construction is due to start in late autumn 2005.

Leader in networking hardware and software, Cisco Systems, is seeing strong growth in many of its markets in the region. Europtima are appointed as Cisco's Relocation Manager for a number of expansion and relocation projects including Sofia, Bulgaria, where the office has recently been relocated, Bucharest, Romania, where the relocation will complete in Q1 2006, and Warsawa, Poland, where leases for an expanded office are under negotiation.

We believe that the depth of understanding gained long term benefits both customer and vendor and we're delighted that our customers seem to share this view.

Europtima CEE looks West

We know no borders! We are delighted to have been supporting IHI (International Hotel Investments), BCP and Eurohypo on the redevelopment of the Corinthia Alfa Hotel in Lisbon, Portugal.

The Corinthia Alfa is a 5* hotel which has been redeveloped to provide more than 400 rooms in the heart of Lisbon's business district. EO CEE has been providing development loan monitoring services on this prestigious hotel redevelopment.

The hotel was successfully re-opened in late April this year in good time for Euro 2004, the European football championship which is being held in Portugal in June and early July 2004.

Europtima Group are currently supporting Eurohypo not only in Portugal, but also in Poland and France. Likewise our partnering relationship with IHI and Corinthia extends already to Portugal, Hungary, Libya and Russia. We are always delighted to receive repeat business and to develop long term relationships with our customers.

Multikino turn to Europtima

We are delighted to have been selected as a provider of construction consulting services for Multikino in their expansion of their existing chain of 7 multiplex cinemas in Poland.

Multikino, which is a joint venture between UCI and ITI, has been operating in Poland since 1995.

Redevelopment of Cisco Lisbon

We continue to develop our relationship with Cisco Systems and our Warsaw and Lisbon offices are co-operating on the redevelopment of Cisco's Lisbon offices.

The project includes the reconfiguration of the customer reception areas together with new Labs for the demonstration of Cisco's market leading products and improvements to back of house facilities. Cisco will be welcoming their clients to the new facility in August 2004.

Nowe Centrum moves forward with EO

EO have been appointed to provide project and cost management services by the new owner of Nowe Centrum retail and leisure development in Katowice, Poland.

Trigranit completed the acquisition of Nowe Centrum in January 2004 in a move which will see the project realised after a period of some uncertainty.

EO's role is to deliver $8 million of enabling works including diversion of HV electric lines, bulk excavations, and demolitions.

EO Paris & Warsaw Support Cisco

Cisco have entrusted their latest French project to a combined team from EO's Paris and Warsaw offices. EO have been asked to provide a project and cost management service for the development of a Customer Briefing Centre and training suite with a budget of more than $4 million.

EO were selected in mid-February to ensure delivery of the project to a demanding timescale which will see completion in late August this year.

Press Release: Europtima strengthen Team

Construction and real estate consultants Europtima have strengthened their team in Central and Eastern Europe with the appointment of Jonathan Steer to the Management Board of their regional hub office in Warsaw. Jonathan took up his duties on 4 January 2003 and brings a wealth of real estate and development experience gained in the UK and Poland.

Jonathan is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and holds an MSc in Construction Management. He has been based in Poland for more than eight years. He joins Europtima from property developer Chelverton International where he was Construction Director.

Jonathan will join the existing Board Members Gaby Tayoun and Sandy McMillan where his responsibilities will include both delivery of development, project and cost management services on existing and new projects as well as contributing to the administration and development of the business.

Europtima operate throughout Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, where they presently have 11 offices servicing projects in more than 25 countries. Europtima’s Warsaw office serves as a hub for Central and Eastern Europe where they are currently involved in major retail, leisure, office, industrial and hotel projects in Poland, Russia, Croatia, Slovakia and Hungary. In Poland Europtima are currently working on major retail and office projects in Warszawa, Łódż, Poznań and Katowice.

EO to support Adgar Plaza

After a competitive tender, EO are delighted to have been selected as project and cost managers for the new Adgar Plaza Phase 1 office development in Mokotow, Warszawa.

Adgar Plaza is to be developed in two phases by Israeli investor Adgar Investment & Development. Phase 1 is a 10 storey office building of 17,000m2 with 6,900m2 of underground parking. Completion is expected in mid 2005.

New Polish & Russian Projects

Europtima's Warsaw office has recently been asked to help with two new projects in Warsaw and Moscow.

Link 4 are expanding their call centre for their telephone based insurance business in Warsaw's Brama Zachodnia (West Gate) office building. Our local team are delighted to be working with them again and are providing project and cost management services for Link 4's new space.

Leading air conditioning manufacturer VTS Clima are expanding and consolidating their operations in Russsia in a new purpose built office and production facility of 9,500m2. Our Warsaw team were pleased to be asked to provide various pre-construction services leading up to procurement of construction of the new building which is to be completed in the first half of 2004.

Polish Language Web Launch

Europtima are delighted to launch their new Polish language web site, where Polish visitors can learn about us, our services, approach, case studies, news and employment opportunities in their own language.

It is expected that this will be followed shortly by the launch of a Russian language web.

Europtima Team Effort Supports Cisco in Egypt

Cisco Systems are to expand and relocate their Cairo sales office in 2003 with the help of Europtima's Warsaw and Beirut offices, who are providing relocation management, design and quantity surveying services.

Europtima's Warsaw based Director, Sandy McMillan, has already managed Cisco relocations in Central and Eastern Europe, and we are delighted that Cisco have come to us again to seek assistance with their relocation in Egypt.

Sandy will again combine with our Beirut office, as he did on Cisco's Beirut relocation in 2001. On this occasion, however, Europtima's role is extended to include design services.

The Project has kicked off with test fits for the new space, where heads of terms have been agreed with the developer.

Loan Monitoring for Rheinhyp in Łódż

Europtima's Warsaw office has signed a contract for the monitoring of a Euro 60 million facility for the development of the massive 150,000 m2 Manufaktura retail and leisure complex in Łódż.

The centre is in a former factory used for the production of fabrics. The old factory buildings from the early 20th century have impressive listed facades, which will be carefully retained and restored to give the complex a unique atmosphere.

The development is being undertaken by French retail developer Apsys International and major tenants include a Geant hypermarket.

Europtima have already been appointed as cost consultants by Apsys, another in a succession of appointments including Korona in Wrocław, and Janki Centrum Handlowy in Warsaw.

Europtima strengthen Warsaw Team

Europtima's Central & Eastern European management team has been strengthened by two new senior appointments based in the Warsaw office. Sandy McMillan takes over as Operations Director for the Region and he is joined by Sławomir Grabowicz as Project Executive, also based in Warsaw.

Sandy is a civil engineer and professional project manager, and before joining Europtima he was a director of Project Management International plc. He has been resident in Poland for more than 5 years. He has major private and public sector project experience and has worked not only in Poland, but also in Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, Lebanon and UK.

Sławomir Grabowicz has joined Europtima as Project Executive, also based in Warsaw. Prior to joining the team at Europtima, he was Associate Director with Gleeds Polska. Sławomir is a civil engineer and has wide experience of project and cost management on projects for international clients throughout Poland.
